Maths-

Learning objective: to subtract whole numbers with more than 4-digits.

Click on the link and watch the video, then complete the worksheet.  You can print this or write your answers on a separate piece of paper. 

Once you have finished, check your answers and rework any you have wrong.

If this lesson has taken you less than an hour - and you have checked and corrected your mistakes - then please do the extension tasks.

If you are finding the tasks difficult or if you are making lots of mistakes, please email your work to your teacher so that we can help you.  Of course, you can share your work with your teacher at any time if you would like to.

We have also provided an extension task for each day if needed.

Miss Rice's Maths Group: 

Lesson Objective: Subtract a 1-digit number from a 3-digit number- crossing ten.

This lesson builds on the skills you used yesterday. The method remains the same however you are now using larger numbers.

English:

This week we will be looking at poetry. There will be video lessons, which introduce and explain the tasks in more detail. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are having any difficulties with any of this.

Please email your work to your teacher where highlighted.

Learning objective: to read and analyse a poem.

Watch the lesson and pause when asked to in order to think about the questions.

Complete the task at the end of the lesson. Today, your task is to make a list of verbs linked to recipes that appear in the poem. There is a copy of the poem in today’s resources, as you will need to read the poem again to complete the task.

 

 

In addition, make sure you are logging on to Reading Eggs:  https://readingeggs.co.uk   Sometimes there will be tasks set as part of our daily lessons. At other times, you can choose which activities to complete. There are lots of books in the library section if you need something new to read.

Spelling:

Learning objective: to learn some common homophones.

 This week we are carrying on our work on homophones.

Today, your lesson is on Reading Eggs.  You should have lesson 5.6 released to you today. 

Once you have finished, have a look back through the spellings you have learnt over the previous week.  Complete a look, say, cover, check activity for a selection of them – focussing on any you think you may get wrong.

Computing:

Lesson objective: to learn how to stay safe when using the internet.

This lesson is a live lesson however it is accessible on this site throughout the day.

Safer Internet Day, coordinated by the UK Safer Internet Centre, is an annual celebration aiming to raise awareness of emerging online issues and concerns amongst young people, from cyberbullying to social networking to digital identity.

In this 30-minute Live Lesson in partnership with the UK Safer Internet Centre, aimed at primary-aged students and linked to the primary computing curriculum, we learn about how we can stay safe, responsible and wise in an increasingly digital world, with tips and advice from some of the biggest personalities on the web.
