English -

To write the beginning of my folktale story.

You can download last week's resources to help you with writing your story - these are attached below. We have been reading the story 'The Enchantress of the Sands'. We are going to base our new folktale story on this but change some details (which is highlighted in yellow on the powerpoint slides). We planned our new story on Thursday last week which you may remember but follow along with the powerpoint and it will guide you through writing an opening paragraph. Download all of the resources - sentence starters, spelling helpsheet and success criteria to use in today’s lesson. We will look at how to achieve the success critiera and there are also some top tips to help you to write a gripping story!

When you have finished – make sure you read through your work checking for correct spelling and punctuation.

Tick any boxes that you have achieved from your success criteira today.

Read your work aloud to check that your sentences make sense and flow well. Have you used interesting vocabulary to excite the reader?
