This week we will begin looking at The Highwayman, which is a narrative poem. There will be video lessons, which introduce and explain the tasks in more detail. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are having any difficulties with any of this.

Learning objective:  To retrieve information and infer from a text.

Watch the video and pause it to complete the questions and activities.

The lesson introduces a video of Catherine Bruton (the author) discussing the book, but this doesn’t open within the lesson.  Please watch this separately.  The text for this lesson is shown on the screen, but you will need to refer to a copy of the text in order to complete your answers.  Print or have open the text throughout the lesson.

Grammar:

Learning objective: to identify expanded noun phrases

Watch the video and read the information on this webpage. Then read the information under the grammar tab.

Once you have done this, complete the worksheet.

R.E:

Learning objective: Developing our understanding of God’s plan for Jesus and the events of Holy Week.

In this lesson, you will think carefully about what we already know about the key events in Jesus’ life and what that tells us about God.

You will then listen to the story of Palm Sunday and decide whether it was part of a plan or not.

Follow the link and watch the video.

Then using the text from the video describe the events that took place and give your opinion as to whether the events were planned or not.
