Maths:

Click on the link and watch the video, and then complete the worksheet. You can print this or write your answers on a separate piece of paper. Once you have finished, you can check your answers. If this lesson has taken you less than an hour - and you have checked and corrected your mistakes - then please do the extension tasks and/or Times Tables Rockstars.

Miss Rice's Maths:

Today, you will be thinking about which numbers are greater and lesser but using a place value chart to help you. You may want to use your own place value chart and find something at home to be counters.

English:

To identify persuasive features. You will need to be able to see the English day 1 AFOREST examples checklist and the English day 1 letter for task. You do not need to print these. There is also a copy of the model letter used in the video lesson, which you can print if you wish to. Watch the lesson and follow the instructions. Pause the video when you are asked to and complete the task at the end of the lesson.

Spelling:

To understand the spelling rules –ible and –able (Lesson 4.31) Today’s spelling lesson is on Reading Eggs. It will appear as an assignment for today. You will not be able to do anything else on Reading Eggs until it is done. NB: Once you get to the feedback part of the lesson, the lesson is complete. You do not need to click onto a different spelling rule afterwards.

Art:

Today you will complete the first of two lessons on illuminated letters. Clink on the link below to watch the voiced lesson and follow the instructions.

 

Please note there is an error on the Art video. When drawing the frame the outer frame should measure 10cm by 15 cm and the inner frame should be set 2cm inside the first frame.

TA Group - Reading Comprehension, Spelling and Grammar

The following resources are for those children who have been asked by their teacher to complete a separate lesson for Monday's English lesson, Monday's Grammar lesson and the week's Spelling lessons.  If you have not received a phone call asking you to use these lessons, then please complete the lessons above for Year 5. 

For those children to whom it is relevant, there is a separate Reading Eggs lesson on vowel digraphs – ee and –ea (Lesson 1.6).
