Head Teacher

Due to the retirement of our head teacher, the children, staff and governing body are searching for someone special to lead us on the next stage of our journey. We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic, dynamic and passionate leader to work in close collaboration with all stakeholders to continue to develop the school this great primary school.

 About the School

We are an OFSTED “Good” two-form entry primary school situated in Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. We have a modern site with beautiful buildings and a newly built forest school facility, all of which offer fantastic opportunities for exciting and enriched learning.

 As governors, we have high expectations of the person who will be the leader of our school and will work hard to support them to provide a safe and caring learning environment.

 We want our new head teacher to help continue developing an innovative and exciting approach to learning. We also want them to work with us to monitor workloads and develop staff who are eager to teach a broad and engaging curriculum, where pupils can work towards clearly defined end points. We know that to achieve this we need to develop leadership across the school, so we commit to supporting the successful candidate to take advantage of the best training available.

 We are very proud of the distinctive character and ethos of our school, which was founded by the Church of England and we continue to enjoy a strong and unique relationship with our local church and community, therefore, the successful candidate should consider how they will preserve and build on this ethos in the future.

 We want to work with a leader with a proven record of accomplishment of delivering high standards of teaching and learning and who is willing to work with all stakeholders; staff, parents, governors and the PTA, to give the best possible life chances to our pupils and families.

  3. Will give us an interesting range of lessons, including things like sports, crafts and computing.
  4. Will be seen around the school in our classrooms and playground, and have lunch with us sometimes.
  5. Is confident in doing their job;
  6. Will surprise us with new ideas; is concerned to listen to pupils and their ideas and will encourage us to do our best.

Governing Body

The governing body will support the new Head teacher to ensure the strategic priorities are achieved. These are:

  1. To preserve our safe and caring environment, which enables our children to flourish.
  2. To maintain and develop high quality, inclusive teaching and learning through the ongoing development of all staff.
  3. To continue developing a broad, innovative and engaging curriculum.
  4. To carry on developing the distinctive character and ethos, by supporting staff and pupils physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
