Our Distinctive Ethos

Shine as lights in the world
St Mary's School is a Church of England School and our Christian Values underpin our distinctive character and ethos. They are:
Love, Truth, Hope, Forgiveness, Respect, Compassion
These values form the basis of our Golden Rules.
St Mary’s School is fortunate in having close links with both St Mary's Church in Aylesbury and with The Church on Fairford Leys. The Revd  Anthony  Howells from  the Church on Fairford Leys regularly visits the school to take part in Collective Worship and to help with Jaffa Club. The school community also visits both churches during the year to take part in special services

The Christian vision and foundation of the school is also supported and monitored by our Foundation Governors.

SIAMS March 2018

In March 2018 we had a SIAMS inspection. This focused on the impact of a Church school's Christian vision on pupils and adults. This involved looking at the school’s Christian vision, the provision the school makes because of this vision and how effective this provision is in enabling all pupils to flourish. We were delighted with the outcome of this inspection. We were judged GOOD with elements of outstanding  in all areas apart from Collective Worship which was judged OUTSTANDING. Please read our report below.
